The Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Gen) Just like the full-size Amazon Echo that was launched back in 2014. The Amazon Echo Dot has all the same features except the big speaker.
The Echo Dot allows you to talk to Alexa, just like the Echo, and the response still get beamed back down from the cloud, but with the Echo Dot everything is reduced, the price, the package, and the audio quality.
It's a super ingenious addition to any home and it isn't that expensive.
As you might assume, the smaller Echo has a sound quality that matches the small size and price tag, but it's just as smart as its ancestors and, more impressive than many of its rivals.
Design and Features
The Echo Dot is a great-looking product. It's around the same edge and the same light ring found on the full-size Echo, which shows when Alexa is listening to you through its seven microphones or whether the speaker is muted

The Echo Dot maintains the Echo's excellent capability to recognize your voice while giving you the option of improving upon its biggest flaw: the sound quality.
Being able to use an external speaker is a great alternative, and means I regularly ended up using the Echo Dot to listen to music off Spotify, where it was surprisingly intuitive at getting songs and artists playing.

My Opinion
In my opinion, the Echo Dot carries a lot into its tiny box. It's got the same excellent voice-recognition chops as the full-size Echo.
Using a proper external speaker with the Echo Dot is a game-changer, and it feels excellent to be able to quickly put songs or just have the radio playing.
Lastly, its size means you can keep it into a corner, where you’ll soon be using it for everything.
